Cardano Stake Pool: WINTR

WINTR registered it's first day on the Cardano Mainnet on September 17, 2025

Our infrastructure:

  • Our bare-metal servers have been security hardened, tested and proven
  • Network access is provided by a dedicated gigabit fiber-optic connection

Who are we ?

I'm Dave, the Dad of a Canadian family who have been living and working internationally since the start of Covid.

As we're currently on a long-term contract in the middle east where mid-day temperatures can easily surpass 45c during the summer, the name of our stake pool might seem a bit odd. The idea came about as we were outside walking our little rescue dog this summer. I got thinking about 'the one thing that I'd love the most at that moment' ... and the name stuck: !! WINTR !!

What is WINTR all about ?

This same hardware has been validated on several 'Preview Network' pools in the last year or two. The main goals you're looking to achieve with a stake pool is 'uptime' and 'network speed when it counts'. To that end, these servers have been steadily producing upwards of 20 blocks per day on Cardano's twin the Cardano Testnet, allowing me to make hardware and software adjustments to maximize their effectiveness and gather the maximum of available rewards that are allocated to the pool by the blockchain.

Grand plans?

As for 'what does this pool do for the Cardano network?' or 'What plans do you have for big great things?' ... well, our pool is in a part of the world where there are not many pools set up from what I can see (not much WINTR here ;) ... so we will be able to contribute significantly to the decentralization of Cardano, offering quickened network access in this geographical region. In order to give a blockchain the best utility possible, 'close network nodes' are required everywhere transactions might occur .. For that, WINTR is a good thing for this area of the Cardano network indeed.

For other projects, these pools are getting set up for MIDNIGHT compatibility already, and I do have a decent programming background, and one or two good ideas of practical uses for 'multi-user contract data stored securely on the blockchain', but I won't mention any of those until they're ready for testing.

To implement those ideas, Cardano will definitely be "the ultimate chain" due to it's approachability, future-proof architecture and rock-solid security. One other benefit to Cardano's widening acceptance lies in the network's efficiency. Cardano uses 'normal' computers, vs Bitcoin's 'Warehouses of super-clusters' that are burning 'FINLAND-equivalent' quantities of electricity from their power grids on a daily basis.

Please stake with us :)

In my view, the long run is always better off if you operate in the most efficient, practical way. Cardano does that. Personally, I always strive to under-promise, then over-deliver whenever I can.

So honestly, regarding why anyone should support this Stake Pool: it's built rock-solid, and I'm planning to keep it online 'forever'

I've set the fees and commission to as low as I can, as I'd like to welcome as many new Stakers as possible. If you (and any friends you have) could stake a few ADA to our pool, my family and I would really appreciate it, THANKS !!

The process ... If you have your ADA in any of the usual 'non-exchange' wallets, you should be able to find us with the ticker: WINTR. I've staked wallets to WINTR using Yoroi and Lace .. both were able to find WINTR easily.

Here are a couple of links to find WINTR on some of the Cardano Explorers. If in doubt, you can always find us through your wallet's staking section using the ticker: WINTR
